Each athlete competes with others who are in the same classification. Classifiers determine the class based on standard criteria. To compete in the Paralympics Ontario Program, you must have a physical disability. Events include races -- both ambulatory and wheelchair in the 100 meter up to and including the 3000 meter. Some relays and hurdle races are also included. Field events include: throwing; shot, discus and javelin; as well as jumps.
Two Regional events are held in May. If you meet the standard you will be invited to the Provincial Championships to compete against your fellow athletes from across the province.
